Southwest Florida’s Marco Island attracts hundreds of talented artists, musicians, writers, photographers and painters. Marco Island Outdoor Artists is an open invitation to join artists during you time on the Island. Marco Island Outdoor Artists currently has more than 200 participants expressing their visions in all materials: Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Pastels. Drawing simply with pencil or pen or any material, photographers, sculptures, poetry and prose are expressed in our painting as well.

Marco Island Outdoor Artists program is sponsored by Marco Island Center for the Arts. The group of artists meet every Wednesday in season from October until the end of June.

Goals of Marco Island Outdoor Artists (M.I.O.A):
Encouragement to anyone that wants to try their hand at art. Educate, we share information from how to teach each other (free)), share information about supplies and mentor each other to be all they can be as visual artists. Share and validate commonality of our experiences. All levels of ability come join in and catch the excitement!

most artists arrive between 9-10 but unless stated anytime is good…leave when you want.
The only rule is to respect the artists and keep space clean….be prepared for working outdoors….

2/8 TEN THOUSAND ISLAND
NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

189 species of birds, 1.1 mile Marsh Trail, Tower, Shade
35,000 acres protect mangrove habitats native wildlife and
endangered species. Part of the largest epanse of mangrove forest
in North America 2/3 of the refuge is mangrove forest.
It dominates most tidal fringes and the numerous island (or keys).
The northern third of the refuge consists of brackish marsh and
interspersed ponds, and small coastal hammocks of oak,
cabbage palms and tropical hardwoods such as gumbo limbo trees.
Bring carrier, Lunch and Bucket! Woods are good!
